The training listed below was created to instruct our Teaching and Learning Coaches (TLC) volunteers, but anyone may participate.

TLC volunteers come in direct contact with the young women and babies at The Sparrow’s Nest. They assist the house staff in nurturing and ministering to these young families. Please contact our volunteer coordinator Alyssa at alyssa@thesparrowsneststl.org  if you’re interested in becoming a TLC volunteer. TLC Volunteers need to complete all of the following Sparrow Core Training sessions:

  • Part 1: Understanding the Framework of Poverty –  not available at this time

 

TLC Volunteers need to complete all of the following State of Missouri Required Trainingsessions within the first year of acceptance as a TLC:

  • Child Development and Child Management Techniques
  • Crisis Intervention
  • De-escalation Techniques
  • Direct Care
